Being the first to comment puts me in an odd position as I feel the event mainly focused on the inner city students. As a parent of a 2nd grade E.B. student I missed the warm greeting, the excitement of learning who your teacher was going to be or who your classmates were for the coming year. The lines were all too long for everything. The stations set up would have best been utilized during an exhibit event, not an event welcoming students back. I will be expressing my unhappiness to our new superintendent and requesting that next year her not be so easily swayed to participate again. This is a time when the schools should have their own gathering for students to meet with students attending their school.
