All schools closed on Friday, December 19

Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Superintendent Carol R. Johnson have announced that due to a snow storm expected tomorrow, all Boston Public Schools will be closed on Friday, December 19. All after-school activities, evening events, and athletic games are also cancelled on Friday. All BPS central offices, including Family Resource Centers, will remain open for business.

The City of Boston "Know Snow" website provides valuable information for residents about staying safe and warm this winter.

I personally think that they should call a school day. Especially for those kids in schools far off like Boston Latin School.

Is it likely that school will be canceled for tomorrow, December 22nd? My child's commute takes her over an hour to get to school via public transportation and I don't feel that it would be entirely safe, considering all the rain that is going to follow and turn into ice and slush. There are also many neighborhoods that have yet to be plowed. It is very close to winter vacation, I think for everyone's sake we ought to close school tomorrow.
