BREAKING NEWS: Boston Teachers Union strike averted on February 15

All Boston Public Schools will be in session on a regular schedule for all students and staff on Thursday, February 15. Boston Teachers Union members voted tonight to delay a strike vote, possibly for two weeks, depending on the progress of ongoing contract negotiations.

I think that the teachers should not have postponed the strike. They have been in negotiations for far too long and they need to take action if they wish to get their way. Conceding to the School Committee is not the way to go.

I think that the boston teachers union should have had the strike.this is because if the teachers had gone through with the stike in the snow and sleet it would have shown the teachers determination.

I think that the BTU should have went on with the srkie if they wanted to make a change. Postponing the strike may have made matters worse for the teachers.

I wonder if the postponement was a planned event by the system. Perhaps they hypothesized that by offering some negotiations they might be able to keep the strike off as long as they can. I hope that the negotiations to come will fulfill all the teachers' requests. They work hard, and it's not all about money. They're passionate about their jobs, but mayeb they can't perform it efficiently with the poor BPS conditions.

I think that the teachers should have had that stike because they same that they are slowly coming into a workable deal but they are really going to see the slowness when it doesn't happen and it will be partially their faults for saying something and not following through with it.
